Why Nama: Stay’s Chikankari Just Feels Different

Posted by Hariharan Arumugam on

You must have tried so many chikankari, but you know how it feels to have that one piece of clothing that just fits and the fabric of which feels like our second skin. Yes, that is what we aim to get you chikankari on premium quality fabrics that feel like air and are soft and last you for seasons to come.

That’s the vision and idea behind Nama: Stay’s Chikankari kurtas and kurtis sets.

Most Chikankari you find online feel detached. You are not sure about the embroidery, the fabric, the fit and most importantly will it look similar when you get it at home or not.

Also, the important doubt is whether its true authentic hand embroidered chikankari or just another gimmick. This is what we solve for you and step in here. All our kurtas are intricately and meticulously hand embroidered by our artisans in Lucknow. From the cutting, stitching to embroidery to washing to drying everything is done by hands

Nama: Stay is different. It’s handcrafted and hand-hearted.

A Journey to the Heart of Lucknow

This story starts not in a boardroom, but in the narrow lanes of Lucknow.

Our founder Palak, didn’t simply select patterns from a catalog. Her journey starts not from today or yesterday but from her childhood when she used to visit Lucknow with her mother scouting for chikankari kurta for herself, or when she was in NIFT Delhi and was a part of several clusters where she worked closely with artisans. She walked through the city bylanes and met artisans in tucked-away corners. She listened. She learned. She stayed. What she brought back wasn’t just a garment. She bought back the kind of care you feel when someone goes the extra mile to find the real thing.

Quality You Can Literally Feel

Nama: Stay works with pure, breathable fabrics like cotton, mull, and soft modal that drape like a second skin. We don't compromise on quality and believe in small and slow quantities and styles

Marketplace versions can sometimes feel stiff, overly treated, or flat. Because they are designed more for bulk than for belonging to your wardrobe and lasting you for ages. But not at Nama:saty. The embroidery is done by hand, not by machine and it's designed by our team in house. Oh , yes we make our own blocks.

"It’s about Authenticity."

That’s the most common thing we hear. Customers from all over the world say they feel seen when they wear Nama: Stay. That somehow, they’re part of something bigger: a craft, a community, a conversation. It's loved by celebrities across the world. Its worn by Lis Ray, Nauheed Cyrusi, Priya Malik, Sara Ali Khan and may more

It’s not just aesthetics. It’s authenticity.

Built to Last, Not Just Be Liked

We’re not here for trends. These pieces are made to be lived in, washed, reworn, and adored across seasons. They don't fade in memory or in the wash. Because when something is made with care, it doesn't just look good. It stays good.
